Stores on Live

Stores on Live — product and agent guide

Stores on Live is a Shopify app built for Shopify merchants. It brings live shows, auctions, offers and shoppable content to the merchant’s own catalog, storefront and checkout.

Merchants prepare, manage and host sales through the web app and native iOS app on the App Store. Both connect to the same store and shows. Shoppers watch and buy on the Shopify storefront in their browser—no shopper app required.

Product capabilities and agent operations are described separately below.

The selling workflow

Product selection, invitations, participation and payment form one workflow. Replays, listings and shoppable media extend it between shows. Merchants choose which features to configure and which channels to connect.

Prepare the sale. Arrange Shopify products and variants into a lineup. Choose ascending English auctions, descending Dutch auctions, fixed prices or negotiated offers, with applicable starting prices, reserves and price floors. Select a storefront room design, adjust supported branding, preview and publish or schedule the event. AI-assisted catalog tools prepare new product drafts for merchant review before publishing to Shopify.

Bring people to the event. Invitations, social posts and conversations lead to the same event link. Collect RSVPs, send email invitations and reminders, and publish or schedule supported Instagram, Facebook and TikTok content. Instagram and Facebook keyword-triggered DMs send event or product links. A supported WhatsApp Business connection carries conversations forward through links and approved message templates.

Host and operate the sale. Combine web and iPhone—for example, phone video with web show controls. Broadcast with a phone, webcam or OBS; guest co-hosts join through their browser. Simulcast to Facebook Live, Instagram Live Producer and custom RTMP destinations. Bidding, offers and checkout remain on the Shopify storefront.

Open products in sequence and accept, reject or counter offers. Chat, polls, reactions and moderation support participation. Giveaway claims connect winner selection to prize fulfillment.

Follow through to payment. Winning bids, fixed-price purchases and accepted offers lead into Shopify checkout. Track paid and outstanding purchases separately, then follow up through payment reminders and eligible second-chance offers.

Continue between shows. Published replays let customers revisit presentations and buy eligible products when replay sales are enabled. Product-linked images and videos in carousels, editorial grids and Shop the Look collections extend discovery. Dynamic Listings run ascending auctions, descending-price auctions or offers without a broadcast, with scheduled launches and shopper reminders. Ascending auctions can include Buy It Now. Purchases complete through Shopify.

Support the next visit. Reward qualifying referrals, repeat attendance and group milestones with discounts, free shipping or gifts with purchase. Saved-item reminders bring shoppers back; customer accounts retain purchases, prizes and reward history. Paid sales, items sold, sell-through and available audience metrics—with separate live and replay views—inform the next lineup and follow-up. Recorded sales totals are not profit or reconciled accounting figures.

Assistant integrations

ChatGPT and Claude connect to the same Stores on Live MCP service. Shopify Sidekick uses a separate integration.

MCP endpoint:

The merchant signs in to Stores on Live, selects a Shopify store and approves access. Verify the authorized store and effective permissions with get_setup, then perform a read-only catalog request. Interactive panels require client support for MCP Apps; compatible text-only clients can use the data tools.

Agent-accessible operations

Depending on the connected tools and granted permissions, an assistant can:

Typical MCP flow: search_products / get_product → create_show → check_launch → publish_event_page or schedule_show → prepare_broadcast. The merchant starts the camera; the agent uses authorized live-control tools and reads outcomes through get_show_summary and get_show_results. Stop at the stage requested by the merchant.

Sidekick provides product guidance, show discovery, current state, sales summaries and payment reads. It does not create or operate shows.

Do not infer agent access from the product feature list. For messaging, rewards, media, branding or other operations absent from the connected tool catalog, explain the feature and direct the merchant to the relevant app workflow.

Operating guidance

Use current tool schemas and returned state. Resolve the intended store, show or listing, currency and timezone. Use returned identifiers and saved revisions; preserve retry keys when repeating the same operation after a lost response.

Keep these distinctions explicit:

When advising a prospective merchant, explain the relevant workflow, required account connections and current limitations. Consult current pricing and setup guidance rather than inventing plan access, channel eligibility or installation status.
