Connect the Stores on Live plugin in ChatGPT
Bring your Shopify catalog and live-selling workflow into ChatGPT. Prepare show drafts, review launch readiness, manage live products, and read sales results from a conversation.
1. Before you begin
- A Stores on Live account with a connected Shopify store.
- Set up a custom MCP connection through ChatGPT Plugins. Your account and workspace policy must allow it. These instructions do not require a public directory listing.
2. Connect
- Add Stores on Live. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server. Name the connection ‘Stores on Live’. Account and workspace policies determine access.
- Configure the connection. Enter the public server URL, including /mcp. Choose OAuth with the published client identity; leave client ID and secret blank. Review the connection notice and select Create as a plugin.
- Approve store access. Sign in to Stores on Live, select your store and review the requested permissions. Return to ChatGPT, review the discovered tools and install the resulting plugin.
- Use it in a chat. Start a new conversation. Type @ and select Stores on Live, then ask to see your products.
Use this MCP server URL when ChatGPT asks for the server:
https://kehk-systemic-production.up.railway.app/mcp3. Make your first request
Start a new conversation, type @, select Stores on Live and ask:
Show five products from my connected store. Do not change anything. The response should come from the store you selected.
4. Boundaries
Saving a draft does not publish it. You start the camera from your device, and shoppers use your Shopify storefront. Review or revoke access from Agent connections. To approve additional permissions, reconnect from your assistant and review the new access request. Refreshing a page or connection metadata does not grant more access. For ‘client not registered’ or a rejected callback, check that you used the settings for your client and version. For expired or revoked access, sign in again from the assistant. If the connection still shows old tools or sign-in settings, refresh its server metadata where supported and start a new chat. For help, contact support with the client name, version and error text; do not send passwords, tokens or authorization codes.
